For decades, Henderson Island, formerly known as Willow Point South, has been a popular destination for bow hunters and is well known for its abundant wildlife and history. Today, Henderson Island is still bow-hunting only, except for a small section of the property set aside for members' kids rifle hunting. Henderson Island is 6,632 acres +/- located in East Carroll Parish, Louisiana, and is accessed by private ferry at Laney Camp Road on Lake Chotard. It is surrounded by water with over 7 miles of Lake Chotard frontage and a little over 3 miles of Mississippi River frontage.
In addition to some of the best whitetail deer hunting along the Mississippi River, Henderson boasts some great duck and turkey hunting. Not to mention, the fishing and small game hunting opportunities are excellent. Duck hunting the sloughs on the island is second to none, especially when the Mississippi River is above 28 feet on the gauge at Vicksburg. Turkey can be plentiful on the island if the river cooperates. For the fisherman, multiple fishing lakes and sloughs across the island promise plenty of bass, crappie, bream, and catfish.
Everything you need for a weekend of recreational fun and hunting is ready when you get there. There is a main lodge that consists of 8 bedrooms, a large common area, kitchen with commercial-grade equipment.
These 2 equity shares come with 2 lots side by side if the buyer would like to build his own camp.
